Default roof based family attaches to wrong side?

Can anyone figure out why my roof vent family attaches to the bottom plane of the roof instead of the top?

    Craig,

I've tried to figure it out, and I'm still unsucessful. Has something to do with the Reference plane defined as Roof. I'll keep you posted if I figure it out.

In the mean time, anyone else have any suggestions for Craig? (I told him to come here from the NG's, and he was sure to get a speedy solution!)

I built this last night when the one I had from RUGI didn't work either...go figure...then promptly forgot to post it.

Take a look to see if it works for you. The issue with yours is the reference plane isn't defined properly for the solids you placed. This example is using the roof's top surface as the work plane, set as such after starting the solid but before actually placing any linework..
