Bind a vault xref

I tried search and found nothing.

Here's the issue:

I can not bind an xref that is attached from vault. An e-transmit doesn't do it. I can not do it inside the file.

Anyone have a suggestion?

What program are you using? If it's Civil 3D, and you're trying to bind an x-ref with grading objects in it, it won't work. That's the only thing I've found that won't bind.

It is Civil 3d 2008. Sorry. I forgot to mention that. I suspected as much but was just looking for a second opinion.
