    Default Spanish Tile Roof

Without too much tweaking I have been able to create a halfway decent looking Spanish tile roof our of Revit. I created my own rake and ridge tile families but the field tile is all rendered. Mental Ray does an OK job with bump maps. The main adjustment I made was scaling the out of the box Spanish tile material up to 16'.

Nice, but I still like the curtain wall with mullion solution.

We would use the mullion method but we also prefer to keep models as simple as possible.

any chance that someone would be keen to share the fruitts of there labours with the curtain wall or family based solution with others less able or intuned to modelling spanish roof tiles? It would be a nice feature to have available when required.

    Cheers.

Scott, I think this looks great. I would prefer to keep my model 'not so heavy' also. Can you elaborate more on what you did?

    Thanks,
    Kimberly

Spanish Tile Roof are most certainly among the most beautiful roof designs ever invented. Dating back centuries, these tile roofs endure the test of time, and often still intact after far more than a century. That is a primary consideration when deciding on a new roof for your home or business. Though more costly than many other kinds of roofing, Spanish tile is likely the last roof you will ever need to install, for a number of reasons.

Not so heavy on the model if you link the tile into a model on a secondary design option and looks great in enscape and lumion. If interested I have a sample file.
