Please Help Me Understand this statment...

"There will not be any future releases of the Civil 3D - Civil Design Companion product. Civil 3D - Civil Design Companion 2007 marks the end of the road for this product."

I just attended a cadd explode (May, 2008 ) where they talked about doing away with LDD. Jan. 01, 2009 with be the end when AutoCAD will be selling LDD anymore but Civil 3D will be what AutoCAD will be pushing which I attended a couple of demo classes...

Land Desktop Companion (and Civil Design Companion) will not be shipped with C3D starting with the anticipated release in 1Q 2009.

Land Desktop Companion 2009 was the final version. There will not be a LDC2010 version.

Land Desktop Companion 2009 will still be available to subscription customers, but only via download.

To address your first statement. Civil Design was merged into LDT in the 2007 version.

As RK mentioned LDT 2009 is the last version of LDT.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that only applies to the companion products that accompany C3D, right? Not for plain LDT and CD. The only way to get CD at that point if you were still on LDT was to upgrade to C3D and use the companion products.

You might be right. We upgraded our LDT to C3D licenses several years ago. So I'm not sure about non-companion LDT.

Yes, I got that, that is why I asked the question. --- You said that "Civil Design was merged into LDT in the 2007 version.", and I was just trying to confirm if that applied to plain LDT/CD or just the companion flavors...

I was thinking that was part of the marketing scheme at the time - drop CD for the people who have not upgraded to C3D to get them to upgrade...?
