Angry exporting files to autocad 2004

hey need help with exporting adt files to autocad 2004 format. everytime i export the file, it hang the computer. i have so many recovery files due to the many attempts to export those files.

the files are quite big in size (abt 4mb. max) and they are constructs and not views. i cannot export the views anyways because the constructs are the problem. any idea why this is happening???

i tried to explode all blocks frm the construct and it still won't work and i cannot keep binding the drawings.

Red face Re: exporting files to autocad 2004

i'm using ADT 2007 .but i found out what's been causing this to happen, its the spaces and prolly the mob of property sets that i have in it. what i've managed to do is explode all the room tags, wall tags and door tags to retain the visible information. and then delete the spaces and purge whatever styles/property sets that are unused in the style manager. only then will it be exported.

hope this will help whoever is facing the same problem.

Have you tired SaveAs, and then choose a file type earlier than the 2007 dwg version?

If you had the free Autodesk software of Dwg TrueView you could do a mass conversion of a bunch of files at one time into the desired file format.

Don't know if that would help or not.

One thing's for sure...make sure you purge all, audit, and even run recovery on your dwgs to help clean them up. Also detach any xrefs that are not being used. That will help things go faster.

The True Convert is inside of the TrueView program
