Osnap Pause

I'm using Windows XP 64, running AutoCAD 2007 and 2009. When I shift-rt-click to bring up the osnap menu, there a a 5-10 second pause, during which time AutoCAD appears to be locked up, before the osnap menu appears. Once the osnap menu has come up, there is no longer a pause as long as I am continually bringing up the osnap menu. After a few minutes of not using the osnap menu, there will once again be a pause.

The AutoCAD is running on a local work station, while the drawing file is on a file server (running Windows 2003 Server). I'm starting to think that this is a problem between the workstation and the server. Considering fixing the problem with a baseball bat.

Is this for both 2007 and 2009? If this is just 2009, is your command line docked, or free floating?

I am running XP 32 with AMEP 2009 on local machine, opened into a network drawing (win server 2003) and do not experience the pause.

Do you get the pause in a non-network drawing?

The baseball bat should do the trick, I would try that first
