    Default Scale problem

    Hello everybody
I post my problem as it is
When i open an architect drawing of a building(the attached file is an example) with autocad mep and try to draw a duct system or a piping system the scale of the dimensions of the pipes or ducts is 1000 bigger than normal and the DISPLAY CONFIGURATION gives only STANDARD
    No Electrical
    No Electrical lighting
    No.....Mep design etc...

    Hi fathibaali,

First, Welcome to AUGI and congrats on your first post.

It looks to me like the architect created the drawing 1/1000 of full scale. If you look at the drawing units it is set to millimeter but looking at the dimensions shows the rooms are only 4 millimeters wide. I don't deal with the metric system often but that seems like a small room to me.

I scaled the drawing up by 1000 at it looked better to me.

As for the display representation. If you received the drawing from an architct who doesn't use MEP than the display reps will not be included in the drawing. I would suggest creating a new drawing with your template and then either xref (my preference) or insert as a block the architects drawing. That way all of your display reps, styles and other MEP information will be available.

Also, check out the Autocad MEP 2009 forum as this is probably a more appropriate location for this question. I'll see if I can get a moderator with priveleges in this forum to move the post for you.

    Hello dear Scott Telthorst
Thank you very much for the answer.
I am trying to apply what you suggested but still find difficulty.
when i rescale the dwg.the dimensions gives 4000 for a wall of 4 meters.
Pasting the drawing as a block solves only the problem of display representation.Would you like to give me more help.Thanking you in advance.
