    Default Improve of stairs

    Improve stairs:
    1. Drawing symbolic lines in stairs
    2. Using a profile for a stringer
    3. To edit the line of a stringer

For a custom stringer, use a railing. It works quite well and you can cover #2 and # 3. It is a work around for now, but it does haev a lot of flexibility and you can do some pretty wild stuff.

Of course you can always create an in-place family for a stair... (Has to be a generic model category, but you can add sub-categories.)

I have been wondering lately if people are using in-place generic model families for their stairs; or even a generic model family. I need my interior elevations to be very detailed and I am having trouble with the stair tool. Any thoughts?

I often do when the stair design is more complex than the stair tool can work with quickly.

It would be nice if there were in-place stair and railing actegories.

My default steel pan stair type in my template is set to use a C-channel rail profile as the railing. Handrails almost never come in the way I want them, so I add those after-the-fact.
