bending shape linetype

i had a user come to me an ask if there was a way for AutoCAD to produce a line that bends. for example if i have a linetype with an arrow in it and i change direction can the arrow bend? say a right angle or at a 45 at the vertices? and of course he had to add that microstation was able to do it.

The answer is yes.
If the question is:
If one places a shape in a patterned line in AutoCAD
and the line has a vertex where the shape would normally
be does that shape deform to follow the line?
the answer is no.

If your goal is not to warp a custom-linetype image, but simply to make an arrow that curves or bends, you can do that with a polyline that has segments with variable starting and ending widths.
