Default Concrete slab won't cut Concrete Foundation Wall

I can't get a Conc SOG to cut a Conc Found wall. When I finish the floor sketch I am asked if I want to join/cut the overlapping volume of the floor from the wall and I click yes. Then when I look at the section the slab is joined to the wall (I assume because of same material.) When I change the thyp of floor to a truss structure the wall cuts fine.

When I sketch the floor, if I pick the First floor walls with the "pick walls" command, I don't get the option to join/cut the overlapping geometry (since there isn't any between that wall and the floor. I also can use the cut geometry tool to cut the slab from the foundation wall at that point.

Any pointers? I want the Conc Slab to display similarly to the truss floor. See pics below.
