    Default Revit and Lighting Reps

I'm hearing a lot of buzz about Revit and am trying to figure out if the program would be beneficial to my company. We are lighting reps. I am the calculation engineer and so far I have not been able to see how we could use the program. I would appreciate any feedback.

    Thank you

You are a rep for other lighting manufacturers? If so, you could help them create their lighting catalog as Revit families. These families could be downloaded from your website or from the manufacturers directly. As the calculation engineer, you could provide the IES data for each light. In Revit 2009, we can now use that IES data for each light to produce accurate renderings and lighting analysis.

Autodesk also has a website called Seek. seek.autodesk.com This website can gather product information and models from the manufacturers or reps and display them all in one convenient location. This Seek website is accessible directly from within Revit as well.

    Hope that helps!
