In Revit is there a way to either manually turn off dimesions so they don't show or thru the api when placing a component object onto a drawing?

Are you talking about the temporary dimensions?
Andre Carvalho
Yes Andre...a user request. The dimesions that show around the object until the object is placed.
Humm... I know you can play with the temporary dimension text size by adding TempDimFontSizeInPoints=X to your Revit.ini file (under [Graphics] section), where X is the a number larger than 8, if I'm not wrong. But I never heard of turning it off...

Maybe a silly Question but...
There is no Graphics section in my ini, so does it matter where in my ini I put the line?
Also I don't suppose there is a way to control how far away the dim comes up, as if you are zoomed in close to pick lines/walls etc, you often need to zoom out in order to change the dim, closer would be better.

I don't suffer from insanity - I enjoy it!

Maybe I forgot to mention, but you have to add the header [Graphics] just below the text TempDimFontSizeInPoints=X.
The header and the text can be added after the last line in your Revit.ini file. This is an old trick. I haven't tested in Revit 2009, though.
