    Default Overlapping objects

    Hi ...

When I tried to cycle between overlapping objects in the classical way by pressing ctrl+left click I got this message :

"To cycle through overlapping objects, roll over the object on top, then hold SHIFT and press SPACEBAR repeatedly."

I couldn't apply it .. I dono what is meant by roll over object....

It is important to hold the Shift key down first, then start hitting the space bar repeatedly.

    Example:
Erase, move pick box over some objects, press and hold Shift, press and release space bar over and over until you see the object you want highlighted, continue from there as always.

make sure your cursor is over a common point area for your object. if it isn't it may only be finding one object.

That's strange. I cycle objects by Shift+Space Bar + Left Clicking on the common area repeatedly. I don't know if we differ in some system variables.

    I think it does.
Ctrl+Left click is now used in selecting 3D Solids sub-objects by default.
if you're not into 3D operations and you're not using this new feature, you can give it up and set LEGACYCTRLPICK to 1.

I tried 0, 1, 2, and my default setting was 3 for the Selectionpreview variable.

In 2006 cycling was Ctrl and left click. is that gone for 2009 ?

why would anybody want to take your hand off the mouse, and take it all of the way to the spacebar for this ?
was there a problem with the way it worked before ?
is there something BETTER about the way this is set up that i am missing, because i am open to this if there is, but i do not see it...---Thanks

OK, pretty dumb.... I missed it..... the answer is above ---

LEGACYCTRLPICK set to 1 if you are not doing 3-D
