    Default Migrating Content

Have any of you had much success migrating custom content from a previous version of ACA? Think ADT 3.3 and custom door tags and title blocks.

My guess since they've changed file formats twice since then, I'm not sure how well they will work. But In theory, you should be able to upgrade them.

As long as you have not hard-coded layers into the door tag, you could bring the Aec Content file forward, but you will have to rebuild the Schedule Tags folder and also migrate the file that has the referenced Property Set Definitions. You may also want to open a copy and save it in the new format.

I would recommend migrating the Multi-View Block Definition and setting that up to work with a Tag tool (introduced in the 2006 release) so you can avoid the need to recreate all of those folders under the Aec Content root folder. The MVB Definition can then reside in the same source file as other MVBs used for tags and that file can also serve as the source file for the Property Sets. You may want to look at how the out-of-the-box content is set up to see an example. And while you are at it, you may want to have your door tag take advantage of the new annotative feature (added in the 2008 release).

If there are no Aec objects in the title block, opening a copy of that file and saving it in the 2009 format (may not be strictly necessary, but a good idea just the same) should make it usable in 2009.
