Question Stair help - best way to model one run turning into two?

    Hi -

I have a stair that is a single run from first level to a mid landing, then splits into two separate runs from the landing to the next level. So far I have modeled it as two separate stairs to avoid the "two boundaries" error, but as I head towards CDs, I was wondering if there's a way to build this stair as one stair to avoid the visibility problems in plan? Right now the stringers continue through the landing (using a plan region to see the small stair). I've attached the stair as I have built it so far. Should I be building this in an in-place family?

*Still new at this stuff, so thanks in advance for the help*

You may want to do three separate stairs, and use an elevated piece of floor as your landing.

That should solve your stringer issue.

If you want to keep it as a stair (not in place family) you could try to build your stair without stringers at all and then try to create the stringers as railings (offset the profile, so the sketch can be hosted by the stair but the stringer be created outside).
And if you want to keep the stair as simple as possible and maybe use the multistory function, you can create your main run (the 12'-0" one) as a 6'-0" one that turn right and mirror it to create the stair turning left. Using the stringer as railing will let you define where the stringers will be.
