Default Pipe diameter not availble in drop down

I'm working on domestic plumbing for my house design (warning I'm an architect), while the various pipe system definitions include a 1/2" diameter, it is not available in the drop down when I got to create a new piece of pipe, or modify an existing piece of pipe. For instance it was my understanding that when I right click on a connector and choose "draw pipe" that Revit should automatically size the pipe correctly to the connector's size. However in my case it is sizing the pipe to 1" rather then the 1/2" that is set on the toilet fixture (from the MEP library) that I have placed. On top of that, I can't change the size to 1/2" after the fact. I'm not sure what is going on....

    Thanks for the help,
    -R

Try pressing the space bar once you have right clicked and selected"draw pipe", It should toggle to the correct size pipe.

Sounds like you are using a Architectural Template. Check your Project Units under Piping -> Pipe Size and see if you're rounding to the nearest inch. If so, there's your problem.

Me... using an arch template.... never.

Yeah, that did the trick! Thanks Kyle, I don't know if that is documented anywhere, but I think it should be. I had tried looking in help under pipe & piping, and didn't see anything. While I realize most MEP folks are going to use a correctly configured MEP template, you're still going to get crazy architects like me.

Anything else I should look for in terms of settings that might be a little screwy based on arch template? I pulled in a bunch of stuff from a file I have called "Urban House", also pulled stuff from the OOTB Systems template.\

    Thanks,
    -Robert

Hi Robert, I think all you needed to do is go to the "Project Units" go to the "Piping" tab and change the "Pipe Size" to have a different tolerance....
