Default Mass Floor Schedules - Calculated Value with Floor Volume

I just started using 2009, and I love the Mass Floor Scheduling... just one problem.

I want to make a calculated value for Floor-to-Floor height by using the equation:
    Floor Volume/Floor Area

However it keeps telling me that 'Floor Volume' is not a valid schedule field. I have no problem with any of the other fields in calced values.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi,

I get the same message and I think it may be a bug. When I examine the parameter Floor Volume in the Formatting Tab I find that there is a space at the end of the parameter name that is not present for the others. When I try to create the calculated parameter and include the space at the end it still doesn't work but Revit is probably discounting it internally. I think support should take a look at this.

You can still apply Floors by Face to get what you need in the meantime...a little more work but you get what you need for now.

    Steve,
You note that you can apply Floor by Face to get the result. I don't see how - am I missing something?

When you apply floors by face, it creates a floor slab with a thickness nominated in the floor type. When you schedule that it gives the volume of the floor slab itself - this is no use in the calculation that dp wanted to do (me too). The "Floor Volume" scheduled in Mass Floors gives the volume of the overall space, floor to floor, not the floor thickness.

    Any ideas?

Meanwhile you can do those calculations outside revit.
ODBC extracts mass volume and area, so you can get the FFH.

I also just discovered that this has been fixed in Revit 2010 - and the calculation works just fine (Floor Volume / Floor Area) as long as you make the units "Length".
