    Default a few questions for a new 2009 user

    Here we go.
    1) How can I take off the past projects on the inital page when I start up Revit?
    2) How do you get rid of those dots on the night renders?
    3) I heard you can save down. I dont see how to do that anywhere?
    4. When making a render whats the best way to make one say at dusk? I want one that has a little sun with the lights on?

    Thanks

    The recent projects screen is hard-coded into the program. There's no way to change it that I know of.

    The dots on night renders has been covered in the rendering forum a few times I believe.

    You cannot save down. The way the program works really just makes it impossible, since there are features in newer versions that didn't exist in previous versions, which would create serious issues if you tried to save a file to an older version.

    The last question is probably better asked in the rendering forum, or search and see if other people have posted dusk rendering tips.

    1. Click on the Window pulldown and uncheck Recent Files, however, it shows up again the next time Revit is launched.
    2. Don't know.

    Only thing that does is close the Recent Files window, which can also be done by just clicking the X button to close the window, like closing any other view window. But it still comes up again the next time you open Revit, and to my knowledge there is no way to disable it.

    *edit bah you edited your post

    If you feel lucky, you can delete the entries from your INI file.
    Look for a section like this:
    [Recent File List]
    File1=C:\Program Files\Revit Architecture 2009\Program\SDK\VSTA Samples\Revit_VSTA_Samples.rvt
    File2=C:\Projects\0810500 Davisco\Davisco - Disco.rvt
    Keep the
    [Recent File List]
    part, but you can delete all of the File#=blahblahblah lines

    Again, this only works for the current session. as soon as you open another project, it will get added to the list. But at least it will be the only one in the list.
    Go back to AutoCAD? I'd rather lose my right arm!
