Structural Column Cut Materal Not Showing up in all phases

Hello all,

I have been struggling with this problem all morning, and after searching the forums I have not found an answer.
My problem is simple: I want my structural column cut pattern to show up on all plan views, in all phases. The columns are existing, and the cut pattern shows up in phase existing. When I move to the demolition and new construction views, the columns show up without any pattern.

I just completed another project in Revit 2008 that had the same situation (same client for both projects). And it worked as it should. This project is in Revit 2009, so at first I thought that might be the reason for my troubles. I upgraded my earlier project to 2009, transferred project standards in the hopes of fixing this. It didn't work.

As far as I can tell, all of the visibility settings are the same for both projects. The columns I am using are the exact same family for both projects. I have looked in graphic overrides, in materials settings, view propoerties, etc. I have gone into the family and looked at parametric settings... I can't find that one piece of information that I know I am missing!

I have attached two images - the existing & new construction plans so you can see what I am talking about.

Make sure your New Construction view is set to "Show Complete" instead of "Show All".

I looked into this - and it works to a certain degree, but it causes other problems. The first problem is that it only works for new construction phases, but not the "demo" phase. Our demolition views are set to "show previous + demo".

The second problem this causes is that when I select "show complete" everything that is drawn in phase-existing is no longer half tone, as it is with "show previous + new". We want to keep all existing work lighter than new work.

OK. So go to Settings > Phases > Graphic Overrides > Cut > Patterns > Override existing to show the pattern (select the Visible check mark). Also override Demolition to show the pattern (if you want), doing the same thing. The patterns should show for demolition and existing.

Thank you Andre, this solves my problem!
I looked back in version 2008 - it looks like Autodesk updated this menu for this version. My default settings in 2008 allow the visibility, rather than the other way around.

My question now is, why is it that when I upgraded a project from 2008 to 2009 it retained its cut pattern visibility even though when I go into settings for that particular project they are default to not be shown. Does that make sense?
