    Talking Exploded In CAD!

    Hi

On Exporting to CAD, my circular columns always end up as 2 or more arcs. Is this normal? can i have Revit exporting these elements as circles?

On exporting Structural columns, i have the columns as a block, but if i explode , it explodes into 2 arcs

    Help!

I think the answer is no. Revit doesn't do 'closed' lines, everything must be a chain. Even a Detail Line circle is really two arcs.

Revit cylindrical solids do indeed explode into two arcs after export. I imagine this has to do with the 3D engine they are using.

However, symbolic or model circles will export as circles. Redefine your content using model or symbolic lines and masking regions for a plan view and you get nice circles. Don't forget to turn off vivibliity of the 3D in plan or you'll end up with arcs nd circles on export.
