    Default Wall Patterns

In our office, we use different patterns inside the wall to designate different wall types. For example, a 1 hour rated wall would have lines running perpendicular to the direction of the wall (i.e. wall running up and down, lines inside wall going left to right). the pattern stays inside the wall boundaries. For some reason when I x-ref the base plan into the sheet drawing the pattern inside the walls appears as line parallel with the walls. My LTScale is set to .5 on both drawings and my PSLTScale is set to 1. Anyone have ideas as to what may be happening? This is the first project I have had this problem. Thanks.

I don't know the answer to your question, but why not use the patterns approved by the National CAD Standards? For example, a line with a single dash is one hour; two dashes, two hours, and so on. This can either be a pattern within the wall, or it can be a line type for a wall component of zero thickness.

I would like to do that, however the higher ups in the office have seen the drawings look a certain way for years and they will not let it go.

Well, sometimes you just gotta tell them you can't put a 13-inch tire on a 14-inch rim. LOL
