    Default MTEXT Diameter Symbol

Any clue to why my diamter symbol (%%c) is coming in as a question mark?

Our drawings are set-up with a style called hand with a font archquik.

I've taken out the archquik font style and brought it back in by changing the style name from hand with the archquik font to style named test with arial font. I then made a new style of hand and font archquik, then changed everything to the newly created style, and the symbols are still question marks.

Also, opening the problem drawing in 2007 shows the diameter symbol fine.

All other drawing in ACAD 2009 work fine.

    Thanks for any assistance.

try using a differnt font. Probably not in the 'archquik' font file.

I know it works, all other drawings show it fine, and archquik is the only font I've used for years. But, you're right, when I changed it to another font (to purge out the archquik) the symbol showed fine in arial font.

I can copy out the mtext entity and past it in a new file and it shows fine. Something is corrupt in the problem file.

I may have to just grab all the work out into a new file.

Some fonts are not showing symbols properly,
just change your font and try.

Also might want to try \U+2205 instead of %%C

You could also try checking the "Use Big Font" check box in the Text Style dialog - see attached. This adds some extra characters to the SHX font - however it's not available to all fonts.
