Foundation... Retaining Wall Footing with key?

Hello,

Currently, I have a retaining wall with a 12'-4" wide x 2'-2" deep footing. I need to add a 1'-4" wide x 1'-8" deep key to the bottom of my retaining wall footing. The model I'm in does not allow me to edit the Wall Foundation already in place.

I've also tried to create an in-place family, but it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to replace all of the Retaining Wall Footings at one time with that. In creating a new family, I have not been able to find a way to replace all of the (currently existing) footings because they are of different types. I'll have to delete all of the footings already in my model and replace them with the new family (it doesn't seem to be categorized the same as the current retaining wall footing.)

I'll also have an area where I'll need to step my retaining wall footing.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Just posting always jogs some new "solution" ...

For now, I've added a concrete beam (1'-4" w. x 1'-8" d.) along the lengths of my Retaining Wall Footings. Top of the beam is set at the bottom of the Ret. Wall Ftg. Because they are both of the same material, the section shows these two objects as joined... Beautiful!

At least, for now, if the architects need to cut a section through their wall, they'll see that there's a key down there.

HTH anyone else looking for a solution. Hopefully someone will have a better solution to the whole Retaining Wall Footing with Key problem, though.
