    Default Sidewalk Assemblies

I need to create a sidewalk assembly that has a 1’ deep footer on one side to accommodate a handrail system (please see attached). Not only would I like to have the footer in the materials but if possible would like to see the handrail in it also, although the adjustable height is not critical. Anyone have any suggestions?

Create a sub-assembley from polyline. That feature allows you to create simple sub-assembleys that are unique to an individual project.

or you can just modify one that already in Civil3D, use the additonal help menu for which one on the tool palettes that you can use. I do this all the time for the subassemblies. The handrail you can look for a "guardrail" sub assembly and modify that one with hand-rail specifications.
