Increasing file size

I have experienced a significant increase or change in file size when i open a .DWG file onto Map3D 2005. Without doing anything to it, I save the file and close it. THe file size is significantly changed, most of the time it increased by up to 40%.

This happens randomly to some of the .dwg files. Most of the files were created with AutoCAD2005 or Map3D 2005. When dealing with file sizes up to 10MB, a 40% increase in size each time i open and save the file is serious.

I would suggest PURGEing the drawing and saving, if that does not work, WBLOCK the drawing and see if the new drawing responds the same. You may have a corrupt block or something of that nature that is throwing a wrench in the Map 3D works.

Do you get the same increase in file size
IF you query the drawing contents into a
new MAP 3D session and save it?
To get a good comparison be sure to use
design center to pull the layout tabs in as well.
