I have a text style that I can not make go away. I have used tools quick select text and mtext. I get 0 items, I purge and it is still there. I copied all to a new page....still there. Chief Engineer wants it gone.

Welcome to AUGI.
FYI: This particular forum is for posting Tips and Tricks that you want to share, not for asking questions.
Have you looked into the "Rename" command, and rename the text style to something else you already use? I've done this before, usually a block attribute is using the style you can't find.
Just a thought.
Then it is being referenced by something else in the drawing (or it's set current). Eliminate this reference and then you can purge it. Start by looking at your dimstyles, tablestyles, mleaderstyles, etc. Another possibility is an empty text string.
If you can't find it, go to http://www.manusoft.com and take a look at SuperPurge. It will get rid of it for you.

Yes, most likely an attribute inside of a block. Perhaps "empty" so you can't see it. I think it could also be used within a linetype.
What I would do is copy the drawing as a "dummy", explode everything then use Qselect to see if you can find it. You can then go back to your original drawing and redefine the offending block (or whatever).
