Customize Plot Stamp file PSS?

I know that this has been around for a while, but I still don't see information or steps on how to customize the Plot Stamp file (*.pss). I only have seen one post in 2005, and that user outsourced the process. I understand the advanced options, but that is not what I’m asking about.

Does anyone have information on the options available in the "User Defined Fields" and what are some of my options?

I have seen and used Diesel in the past, but that is still inserting a block into each sheet. I would like to have these type of options in the PSS file.

This is the easiest way to add a plot stamp to the drawing, mainly because Acad's Publish offers this option with a check box. What is holding me back is the ability to add a field to list xref's in the current sheet, or a way to re-order the fields.

What I do is to embed a Mtext in my title block with different fileds in it. Fields can hold the data for user name, plot date and time, save date and time, file path etc and get updated each time you plot.

Thanks Abdul. But that does not address the question. I'm looking for a way using the plot stamp offered in Acad's plot's optional Plot Stamp *.pss file, and the use of "user defined fields."

I agree, like the the new fields in Autocad, but sometimes you don't always want that line in a drawing. I know you could just switch the border for one without. But Autocad has a file that has options to put user defined fields in, but I don't see anything telling me how to use this.

As far as I can tell, this .pss user-defined "fields" are not really fields. They are just static text that you can select to add to the plot stamp. IOW, they are useless to attempt to plot a list of XRefs in the stamp.

I have never thought of the AutoCAD plot stamps, because the Mtext and fileds give much more flexibility for me. I never use an alternate title block, I just switch off the layer if the plot stamp need not to be appeared in the plot.

Meanwhile, this discussion opened me to think of the pss files, thanks. I will defenitely have a look in to it.

As far as using fields, I have one problem with the Plot category, "Login". one would think that it would track the person that plotted the drawing. On paper that would be true, because that would be correct when plotted to paper. But if another person opens the drawing to view the information, it switched over to the current user's information. It would be nice to be able to see who plotted the drawing last.
