How do I delete an unwanted drawing? Is the only way in Windows.

Just delete it in the same way as any other file, either through windows explorer or hit the open button in Acad select the file and hit the delete key.

Yes, but if you use the "open" option in AutoCAD, you can delete the drawing but there may be a .BAK file still there (provided you have "create backup files" checked off).

This could be good or bad,
good if you accidentally delete a file and need to get it back by renaming the .bak to .dwg.
bad if you really want to get rid of the drawing and clean up the directory, you would need to use Windows Explorer anyway to delete the .bak file anyway.

Cheers. I'm surprised though that there isnt a facility within Acad. Thanks

Why would you want Adesk to spend time and development effort replicating a functionality that already exists in the OS? Pesonally I'd rather they fixed bugs and improived performance...

I see your point but in some programs deleting via the OS doesnt delete all the files associated with the main file because only the program knows where they all are. A simple delete button would be a minor change and at least worriers like me wouldent have to wonder where it was.

I agree about the bugs though.
