    Default exporting revit files into sketchup

    hey there everybody.first time on here.i just have a question.i'm trying to do a google earth visualization for a project im doing.how do i get a revit file into sketchup.i tried exporting as a 3ds file,but revit didnt have that format.What do i do.One more thing,with the file i am exporting,will i be able to keep the material properties?

    You can export to 3d DWG and import in to sketchup, but the files are pretty heavy.

    Autodesk and Avatech both have a google-earth native Revit exporter, that work well. The autodesk one makes pretty light files that you can still turn things off by catagory, but the down side is it doesnt handle the terrain very well, so i leave everything flat, which may not be your preference depending on the severity of the site.

    They wont keep the materials, either...

    You could also try IFC. Revit exports to IFC 2x3 and there is an IFC plugin for Sketchup
