    Cool Sample Files

I was looking today at my metric library, and spotted the sample files folder.
In it were some really cool details/models/designs. I urge you to have a look at them, before embarking on creating a fence, railing, repeating detail, roof form, roof type, or stairs. I was particularly impressed with the repeating details one.

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\Revit Building 9.1\Metric Library\Sample Files

    Your thoughts?

Sounds like what we (in the UK) have in our System Family Files folder? (Although there is a 'Samples' folder in the Autodesk online library I notice which fits the description)

In our case each Revit file has the prefix 'GBRENU_' and then fences, floors, railings, etc.... but I would not say there was anything specially British about them

I don't have that. Looking at the same path, but RAC 2009, there is no sample files. I hope it's because we're on Imperial units, that wouldn't be fair!

If you don't have a system family files folder containing these samples you can find them at the A'desk library for Revit:
    http://revit.autodesk.com/library/html/

Click on 'Revit Instruction and Help Samples'
    then click on 'Revit Samples'
Imperial and Metric are both there.

    Found it! Thank you!
For the Imperial library, the website has: Railing, Repeating Details and Stair samples.

So. What did you think of the data? Impressed?

Yes I was, because looking and playing with it, I had a few "AHA" moments. It took a few tries to download the railing and stairs, and still I was only able to get the stairs downloaded, I haven't tried again to get the railings. I'll try again now. The preview was a big tease!
