Challenge of a Dual - Monitor Setup, That Is

Hello AUGI members,

Having been recently blessed with a second Dell 24" flat screen:

I need a method to lock the position of my palettes and properties dialog to show on a particular monitor with the graphics screen and menu bar on the opposite one.

I must manually slide these around at startup. No big deal really (a nice prob to have!!!) ;

......just asking.

I'd save my workspace after moving around anything, and make sure that my profile that I load was the one that's using that workspace.

You can also set "Automatically save workspace changes" in the workspace settings dialog. Wherever you move them will be remembered next time.

I feel your pain. I, too, have to struggle by with a pair of 24" widescreens.

There's so much room I don't even hate the ribbon.

I am just moving from ACA to Revit with 2 x monitors & would like to have a 3d view on my right screen & the screen that i am working on my left screen. But when I tile the screen I cannot drag one of the tiled (the 3d) to the right screen.
I am currently using my vid card for cloned screens I did not really want to go to spanning across the two screens.
I would appreciate any assistance.

I would like to see autocad allow a floating window outside of the current session.
I could drag a drawing to the second screen. I know I can stretch the session across 2 monitors, however, I dislike how it moves the toolbars away from my main screen.

Why would it not support dual screens? I use duals every day with no issues.

I wouldn't call that supporting dual screens, I call that stretching the view over two screens every time you open Revit ; )

I would rather have Revit open on two screens with possibly one with menus and the other full screen view, or similar to whay you have, two views open, but at least remember those settings.
Before Autodesk spends money and time on that, I'd rather they look into utilizing sytem resources better, and speed up this behemoth. Maybe then i could almost make some money with it.

Maybe what youo're looking for is dockable palettes?

As far as the automatic spread across both monitors, you can probably use 3rd party software to do that (until Autodesk incorporates it).

I've used http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/ in the past, although not with Revit.
