Questions on Sample files

Hi all,

I am trying to find out how many people use the sample files that are shipped with AutoCAD--and if you do use them, what do you use them for?

If you do use them, would it be a problem if they were no longer shipped with AutoCAD but you could have access to them through the website?

Hi Kathy,

There's actually a lot of good stuff in the sample files. There's some GREAT content in the samples with Civil 3D.

To address your question, though...

Distribution is on DVD lately, so I'd say cram more on there! But if nobody knows it's there...

Don't dump it, crow about it!

But if you are thinking about digital distribution, breaking out the samples is a pretty good idea. Not everybody has killer download speed.

Just make sure the peeps still know how to find it - keep on crowin!

We only use vanilla AutoCAD, and we don't really use the sample files at all. IMO they should still be there on the DVD, but maybe they don't necessarily get copied to the user's hard disk during installation.
