Default tool palettes path to mapped drives.... changed

So I created an xpg file from a tool paletted library created at corporate. then we tried to install at regional office who unfortunately have to use different mapped drive letters for i.t. reasons....

is there a fast way to change the path in the xpg before import OR to fix the paths in all the blocks already brought into tool palettes, say from g: to z: as the mapped drive?

    THANKS
    Thank you kindly

The resulting files should be XML files so they can be directly edited, but make sure you keep backups.

I change the path every time we upgrade to a new version. For example, the path "Z:\Autodesk 2008" was just changed to "Z:\Autodesk 2009".

As Robert mention these are XML files and they can be changed with any ASCII text editor.

I bought a cheap (~$25) utility program called Windows Search and Replace that works on many files at the same time. I bought this utility back in 2002 and use it on more than just tool palette files.

It should be easy to justify the cost with a simple ROI.

If you are interested see http://www.searchandreplace.com/srlangeng.htm.

I think I'll ask I.T. to change their cadfiles directory back to G instead of Z.... this will save a lot of deployment customization time and issues like these.

That is the best solution IMO.
