Unhappy Attach raster images in AutoCAD LT 2006

I had AutoCAD LT 2002 before and could attach jpgs by using the ctrl T command in the image manager but I've been updated to 2006 and the command doesn't work. Help! How can I attach a jpg? I can't find anything in help, it just says that you need AutoCAD to do it.

What we do here is we have a drawing that only contains an image, we then Block that drawing into the drawing that we want the image (make sure you explode it) then repath & rename the image in image manager.
To insert more image make sure you purge the block each time.

If you need the block drawing I can attach one for you.

Thanks VLG, I tried your way but the photo didn't appear in image manager. Actually I need to insert the photos as raster images as one of our clients requires it for archiving purposes.

You may want to try the following link:

There are also AutoCAD LT Add-on programs that provide Image menus and commands (similar to the full AutoCAD image menus) as well as some other extras (i.e. LISP capabilities). You can check the following threads:

Okay, I'm going to answer my own question, hee hee. This morning it was a bit of an emergency so I finally called a hotline, in fact in 2002 the alt T or ctrl T was just something that Autodesk had missed and in ACLT 2006 they've zapped it. Bummer. The only way around it (if you don't have AutoCAD) is by having a template file that already has images inserted, you just change the path and save. The only problem is that the file name is not updated. Oh well, (

LT is such a rip off.

There's is a add-on software available, just for that purpose. Merde! the name escapes me just now ; Slingshot! found it mentioned in one of Mike's thread-links below.
When up against a tight deadline, one can down load a 30 day trial version. Here's a link to the English version I did find a French redistributor a few weeks back, no longer sure though if it exists in VOST.

Sometimes I agree SaraS. I don't understand why autodesk removes certain commands in LT with a new version either. It is almost like they sense we are comfortable with LT and are trying to force us to upgrade to full version. But it is still one of the best all around 2-D programs I've seen. At least for a PC.

    SaraS,
Thanks for that tip, I have now added image files (small ones) on top of polygonal & circular viewports to my ACLT 2007 template which I created from full ACAD. Almost as good as full, but like you said it's still a rip off.
