Units automatically changed when opened with Autocad Architecture 2009

Hi, I am using Autocad Architecture 2009. when I am opeining a METRIC unit dwg file with Autocad Architecture 2009 it automatically converts to Imperial units. The files are opening fine in rest of the AutoCAD versions. So could anyone please suggest me what is the problem behind this issue. Is there any particular system variable needs to be changed or any autoCAD default settings needs to be check.

Sounds as if your projects are set to imperial have a look under [Projects][Drawing Setup]
Also check in the options file which profile you are using and switch to a metric profile if not already current.
Are you using the features of Architecture? If not I would suggest always starting via the shortcut that runs ACA as AutoCAD.
