    Question Soften out polylines....??

    I have a topo file that was exported out of ArcGIS to AutoCAD...now i need to clean up the contour lines and make them less choppy (see attached screen shot)these way i can export it into 3dmax or revit to created a 3d model. so if anyone knows how to soften the ploylines let me know please.

    With the PEDIT command you can choose the Spline option. PEDIT Quick Reference discusses what the option actually does. The original line is saved so you can go back to it if you don't like the results.

    If you still have access to the points you used to draw the topo you might want to try using another different command called SPLINE which draws true B-splines and has options that give you more control over the fit of the curve to the original points.
