    Default multileader with text

When I create a multileader with text content, is there anyway to give the text and the multileader different layers? I can only change the colors by forcing and that causes problems when using layer state manager that it stays in the color that it was forced to.
Please let me know if you have an idea.
    thanks

Different layers or different colors?? You switch mid stream. I have my mulitleaders leader a different color than the text no problem, but they should be on the same layer as they are linked (as in if you frezee the text you do not want a bunch of leaders hanging out)

First of all thanks for the response.
Yes I meant different layers. I can change the colors by forcing and that works out pretty well. However if I were to use layer manager state (lman) and show some leaders dark and some light (like mechanical dark and electrical light) it wouldn't work as the multileader and the text leaders are not set to "by layer". They all would show up in the same colors they were forced to be. I guess there is no good resolution to that but again thanks for writting

never never never use color by object!
we put leaders on a seperate layer. but we don't use multileader with text.
    only quick leader.

We use different layers for text and leaders too but I'd like to start using multileaders as they can be annotiative and the whole thing is only one object that I dont need to modify them as I change the scale( leader and text get scaled up or down together) with Qleader, if I cahnge the scale I have to move the text next to the leader or use other modification commands to extend the leader to text one by one.
    thanks
