Default Insert Sheet List - Won't insert

Hello all, we are using 2008 architecture and mep

In one of our satellite offices we have to projects that will not allow you to insert a sheet list table in Project Navigator.

If you right click on the project icon in the sheets tab you get the standard dialogue box, but when you hit ok, instead of getting to pick you insertion point it just blanks back out to an empty comman prompt.

    It's very odd. any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance!

    C

The same thing is happening to me, also. Wish someone knowledgable would respond to your post.

OK...I have an official solution from Autodesk...This can be caused by people using sheet set manager, when a project is set up in Project Navigator.

This is exactly what happened in our other office...people were using it to plot because they didn't have publish options set to "prompt for name" and didn't bother to call and ask. us here.

So the fix is...close the current project in navigator. Make a back up of your DST file. Delete the original DST file and relaunch the Project in Navigator.

This will recreate the DST file (after prompting you).

BUT it can have consequences...we have sheet templates in our navigator and subcategories and people change sheet names and don't click the option to rename the associated file. So I had to go rename some sheets...and renumber everyone. Recreate all of the categories and templates for making sheets....It was so enjoyable. But ALL functionality returned.

Here is the actual text from autodesk....

    Dear Chris,

Thank you for choosing Autodesk Subscription.

This could have potentially happened if a user utilized the “Sheet Set Manager” instead of Project Navigator.

One step we could test is deleting the related .dst file, located in the project directory [containing the .apj file by default]. Make sure to backup the .dst file beforehand in case it is needed later.

Close out of ACA and the project. Afterwards it will rebuild itself, and you can attempt to insert the Sheet List again.

Please let me know if this was helpful or once you have any update.

    Best Regards,

    Ryan Duell
