Thickened Slab Edge Reinforcement

Maybe i am missing something, but i have created a thickened slab edge in one of my projects, and i am wondering if it is possible to place reinforcement in the thickened slab edge?
There are no issues with placing bars in the slab with hooks that are shown extending into the thickened edge, but the program will not allow me to place longitudinal bars entirely within the thickened portion.

You are correct the reinforcement system doesn't allow for 3D reinforcement to be hosted from a slab edge, you can either pick a workplane host or select the slab and draw the reinforcement in the slab edge.

I ended up using the slab as the host and then moving the reinforcement outside into the thickened slab edge. it works, though i get the warning that rebar is sketched outside of its host.
Normally, i would only use a thickened slab edge on smaller scale light commercial or residential construction, in which case i usually just detail the reinforcement. this project is much larger, and i wanted to be able to schedule the reinforcement and keep an accurate account of material quantities for progresses submitted from the General once construction takes place.
thanks for the help, is there a reason why the thickened slab edges cannot support rebar placement?

The funcationality hasn't been added in yet. It was worse in Revit 2008, so lets hope it's alot better in 2010
