Simple furniture or system?

I've been working with the odbc export and come across with a dilemma.
What's the difference between a furniture and a furniture system family?
The basic starting template and hard coded parameters seem to be the same.

my past use of both meant (to me) as followed...Furniture [Chair, Table] Furniture Systems [Pre-Fab Cubicles, Lab Tables]

I would say Furniture Systems is mostly PreFab Furniture that comes as a Set or is included in a set which would make it a furniture systems.
