    Question Perpendicular Object Snap

Ever since we have switched over to Acad 2005, I have had trouble being able to
snap to a WALL using my perpendicular snap. Is there something I need to toggle
    on for that?

It is annoying having to draw guide lines from my walls to get a perpendicular line drawn
    or a distance measured.

    Thanks

    Sheila

If you select the wall you want the line to be perpindicular to as your first point, you might have better success (known as deferred perpindicular)

Try this. Hit L, Ctrl Right Click to get your osnap menu, select perpindiculal, select the wall you want your line to be perpindicular to, and then draw your line.

This website will explain it a little better than I did

That doesn't help me any. A lot of times it recognizes the door jamb or window
in the wall, but not the wall itself.

I was able to do this in the previous versions, what (if anything) has changed??

Are you referring to ADT Objects?

If yes, it might be best that I move this thread to the ADT 2005 Forum where it should receive more appropriate help.

If no, are you referring to normal AutoCAD Objects ie Lines, Circles etc.

    Have a good one, Mike

Yes, I am referring to ADT objects. Sorry I didn't clarify that earlier.

    Thanks

    Hi Sheila

    Done.

Thread moved from the ACAD 2005 General Forum to this one.

    Thanks, Mike
