    Angry Memory....lack of it....

Not sure I'm in the right place...its either here or a hardware forum......but here it goes..
If I open more than one drawing or just one large file after a bit I get "Autocad is running out of system memory. Continuing the current operation will result in program failure or loss of data. Do you want to cancel the current operation?". I have Autocad 09 and the system has 2mb of ram which I know isn't alot but thought there was a setting (either in autocad or windows xp itself) that allowed you to set or bump up the memory available to a specific program. Am I wrong or have I been staring at my monitor too long. Please assist if possible.....

Same problem, happens a lot in 09, same files in 08 did not have this issue.

If I click yes to cancel the "Do you want to cancel the current operation?", just stops and does not continue. If I click no, get a fatal error and comenses to dump.

I am plotting when this happens.

Yeah I feel your pain, my Autocad 09 crashes on me like 10-12 times a day and have a new computer on order but till it gets here I have to work on this one. I thought there was a way to increase memory allocations for a specific program thru windows and thought bumping it up might improve performance.....

Through your windows task manager you can set priorites. You have to do this each time the application is opened. 2GB of ram is not much these days. It'll also depend on the rest of your system if RAM is truely your problem.
