    Angry Unistrut??

Does anybody know of a unistrut family that can be rotated on all axis and can be cut to whatever length is needed per instance? I've tried making my own but for some reason I can't get it to be able to rotate on all axis...

many possible solutions but the quickest (although sloppy) way would be a generic family with labeled ref lines at each end. once loaded to the project you can drop them were you please and pull the end points as needed. since they are generic rotating them won't be a problem either, just be sure to be in a view perpendicular to the rotation plane.

You would make this with a line based family, then it can follow any line you can draw.

Same here - Maya for me. Its difficult to get your head around. Especially how bad the modeling and rendering procedures are within Revit. I hope Autodesk incorporate modeling tools from Max/Maya to speed up the process aswell as add more custom parameters for the rendering.

    Two years later......

Does 2010 have a generic Unistrut-like systems family, or a true Unistrut product? I found some profiles on-line, but I wasn't adept enough (plenty inept, though) to figure out how to make my own. I also couldn't find anything in the families i have that I thought I could use to make some with....

    Lightbulb Re: Unistrut??

If you take the profile of Unistrut and save it as a profile family, you can then load that profile into another family and make a sweep out of that profile. I have done this with great success in RAC 2008-2009. You can then switch between multiple profiles loaded in that parent family.

    Hope this helps,
