We see this with room tags now cooinsiding with a closed room, especially when room bounding is trying to use say a linked exterior shell file, when we are working on the interiors that has the shell linked in. Usually there is some type of warning that pops up at some point in the STC procress, before that dialog box appears.
I've encountered that before. If I recall, we made sure to save the local first and then we did a reload latest. After that, we did an STC, which supposedly did not need to RL since it had been done manually. I have no clue in our case what exactly caused the STC to fail during the reload process. It also helps to close all open windows and only leave a simple drafting view open when STC'ing project files that have these issues.
It used to show up a lot on projects that had a ton of warnings in the Review warnings dialogue. It was also more frequent on projects when people were going longer durations without Saving to Central...
But there was a direct correlation to the warnings, and that occuring. We had a project with some inexperienced users, and once the warnings creeped up past about 300, that started happening with alarming frequency. Resolving most of the warnings made it stop happening...
Right before that warning there was probably a "Errors that can not be ignored" box that came up in the upper left of the screen (typically). This box will list all of the errors. As suggested above, it is typically room objects. Reslove all of the errors in that box (they can be exported to HTML), and you will be able to Save to Central on the first try.
If you do have a linked file that is room bounding, you may need to add room separation lines to your main model, to prevent this error. It's a known bug.
