Default Duct Accessory Problem- Volume Dampers

Hi I was wondering if anyone has come across this problem and what the fix is.

I am having a problem where some of my Volume Dampers are getting placed in the wrong direction. Systems have been set up correctly, connectors are being used correctly (in and out are set up right). The only way I can get the incorrectly placed Volume Dampers to work is to go into the family editor and change the Primary Connection. If I do this the incorrectly placed volume dampers if deleted and replaced will then be able to be placed correctly, but if I replace the previous correct looking Volume Damper it will then place incorrectly.

    attached is a screen shot.

when you place the damper can you hit space bar to rotate it prior to selecting the duct to place it?

No I cannot use the space bar to rotate the object. The object should automatically know which way to rotate becuase of the connectors, one being the direction of IN and the other being an OUT connector. I can set the connectors to Bi-directional but this problem still exists. I have tried placing a control flip into the family but this doesn't work either.

We do not use that kinda of a Volume Damper. We use more of this kind of In-line damper.

thats odd. Sounds like something you should send to Autodesk as it may be a bug.

Well, if it is bidirectional, and we add the control in the family, the space bar might work.....but it doesn't sound Revit like...it should know the flow and place IN and OUT in the correct spot...
