    Question Family Type Mark

    Question:

How might I go about linking my 'type mark' parameter to any user input variables/parameters? For example, if I have multiple electrical cabinets placed throughout a structure and I define said cabinets in the 'enclosure' parameter: Cabinet D1, Cabinet D2, Cabinet D3, etc. is there a way to define my type mark to pick that up as the tag? I have tried adding shared parameters to families such as type mark but I cannot seem to streamline that transition, what I'd like:

parameter [type mark] = [enclosure] where enclosure is an instance parameter so I can have many differently named cabinets and only have to enter the cabinet and its ID one time. Thank you so much.

If I'm reading you correctly, you are trying to get the type mark to fill in automatically from other info...I'm pretty sure this is impossible.

It's easier to make your "enclosure" a shared parameter and then point the tag to it instead of to "type mark".
