    Exclamation Custom Sheet Sizes

We're using Land Develpment Desktop and Civil 3D here (2008 & 2009 depending on how obstinate the draftsman is) and I'm having issues adding in custom sheet sizes.

Most machines will allow me to use the plottermanager command then add in the sheet size. At that point, I'll get errors saving it (both the pmp and pc3 files) yet it will save the sheet size (one machine won't let me do this at all). I figure this is probably permissions on the server.

The real question is: If one makes changes on the pmp/pc3 files, which are stored on the server and referenced by all the autocad installations, then why doesn't the custom sheet size display on all machines instead of only the one where it was created?

Are you editing the PC3/PMP files stored on the server or are you adding custom sheet sizes to the local print drive?

I'm figuring that it *should* be the server end as that is where the pathing is and how it shows when the pmp/pc3 "save as" command leads to.

Just remember, although there is a path for the PMP folder in the AutoCAD configuration dialog, the PC3 file stores the associated (if any) PMP file as a full pathed file. Make sure both are set. When working with read-only folders this can require a three-step procedure: upload new PMP file, modify PC3 to point to the read-only (network) PMP file, upload PC3 file.

Are you aware that PC3/PMP files are printer driver version and operating system specific?

That could prove to be interesting as we're mixed XP and Vista 64 bit here.

That is definitely the source of your issue. You will need to create the PC3/PMP for each OS in different folders, and point AutoCAD to the correct folder for the OS.

And, yes, it means doing the same stuff twice. Lots of "fun" when you need to adjust page margins. I'm so sick of the PMP editing process.
