Default Layer Manager open on ACA startup?

My layer manager (classic style) opens during the startup process - where do I go to remove this from the startup set?

Additional background: At one point I ran my ACA 2009 as ACAD. During this time, I was able to open the layer palette with the "layer" command. Then I must have closed the program with the palette open. Since then, I have run as both ACA and ACAD in "classic" workspace (exploring new features), hence convering the "layer" command to the classic manager.

    Thank you!!

Well, I backtracked: set ACAD profile current; made sure the palette was turned off; closed and reopened ACA; set profile back to working profile; closed and reopened ACA again and the layer manager did not open with it.

Nonetheless - does anyone know where that list of what opens when ACA/D opens lives? It would be nice to know in case there's something that is not so easy to backtrack on happens.

Ok - I still would like to know where this information lives. I have redone my LA shortcut to the LAYERPALETTE because 90% of what my users do with layers is freeze and thaw, which the palette lets you do dynamically. But if that is left open when someone exits, the next time they enter the layer manager opens instead because the LAYER command is in the startup path. Or perhaps I need to set it up so that the layer palette is closed automatically upon exiting. Anyone know how to do that?

It sounds like you have your workspace settings to automatically save changes. Click on the cog looking icon in the bottom right tray and select workspace settings. Clear "automatically save workspace setting". You can manually save them if you ever make changes.

    See if that works.
Why is it called common sense when it is so rare?

    Nice suggestion - unfortunately it didn't work . . .

Having the same problem - exactly the same problem. I do want the Layer Palette to be part of my palettes when starting up, but the classic window opens on startup and not the palette. I go into the CUI and even tell it not to open and it still does. Changing the command seems to be the answer, but where, hmmmmm.

Does anyone know where these highlighted commands are coming from? This is all from my dialog box at startup.

Just to clarify, you want to know where they are set (so you can change "Layer" to "Layerpalette"), not what they're doing (i.e. opening the various palettes when ACA starts up), right?

Unfortunately, I don't know the answer anymore than you - that's essentially the question I've been trying to ask since starting this thread. I gave up on the layer palette and usually forget it exists more often than not. (Still running ACA 2009.)

Yep, Yep & Yep. I want LAYERPALETTE, not LAYER on startup.
