Is there a way to remove the base of RPC trees (the ones that come with Revit 2009)
I usually place them 2” below the ground so they don’t show in 3D shaded views, but in this case that won’t work (see attached image)

Here's a pretty stone-age way to fix your problem. The base will show up in coarse views but it wont render. So if you're rendering set the view to coarse otherwise medium/fine will work. If you need a different size/shape of tree you have to scale the sketches of the geometry. Hope this gets you on the right track.
Edit:
Disregard the added parameters sf1 and sf2 those are left over from attempting to make the geometry scale with the height of the tree.
