    Default Beam Material/Color

How do you change the default color/material of a structural beam? I've created an W flange beam for part of an awning and I don't know how to change the color to a black finish. Thanks for your time.

You'd need to duplicate the steel material, there may be a separate one for structural steel, and then go into the type properties of the beam and assign it there.
